Active networks
FTTH >> Technology >> Systems for FTTH optical access

Based on the Standard IEEE 802.ah, the active networks Ethernet provide with symmetrical bandwidth with speeds superior to 1Gbps by port on an only fiber using for it two multiplexadas and differentiated wavelengths on each optical fiber. Of this one way with each two wavelength we have slots of transmission, slot is used like transmission channel and another one for the reception channel.
This allows to a data transmission Full-Dúplex by means of a connection point us to bandwidth point with dedicated to the user.
In networks PON it defines as Maxima distances between a OLT and an equipment the UN of 20 km so that network PON is operative, with the active Ethernet networks this one limit disappears allowing distances superior to 80Km from the distribution point to the user.
